The Palestinian authorities on Saturday issued a warning about potential repercussions if an Israeli military operation targets the city of Rafah, according to a statement by the Palestinian foreign affairs ministry, cited by the Wafa News Agency.
The ministry expressed concern over statements made by Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, who indicated a shift in focus toward the city, situated along the border between Gaza and Egypt.
According to the ministry, such an attack could lead to the annihilation or displacement of approximately 1.5 million Palestinians.
