Paramount Global reportedly considers leadership shake-up

Paramount Global's board, along with controlling shareholder National Amusements led by Shari Redstone, is reportedly contemplating a significant change in leadership by replacing CEO Bob Bakish, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

The proposed plan would establish an Office of the CEO, which would consist of the company's division heads and managing the entertainment giant on an interim basis.

Bakish has been leading since 2016. However, dissatisfaction has grown within the board and among Paramount's senior leadership, particularly regarding his approach to strategic opportunities, including the potential sale of the Showtime channel.
