Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan went on Monday to Russia to attend the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council's (SEEC) summit in Saint Petersburg.

The prime minister's office added in a written statement that Pashinyan will attend a Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) informal meeting scheduled for December 26. The announcement came as Yerevan has recently been skipping meetings linked to the former members of the Soviet Union as it felt it lacked support from those countries amid the renewed tensions with Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will attend both gatherings.
