Former United States Vice President Mike Pence is reportedly planning to attend the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump, according to The New York Times, citing two people familiar with the planning. Pence received an invitation from the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies which is overseeing the event.
The inauguration, initially set for the outdoor dais, has been moved to the Capitol Rotunda, which seats about 600 people. It is not known how this change may affect seating arrangements for former presidents and vice presidents.
A spokeswoman working for the former vice president has refused to comment on his plans. The relationship between Trump and Pence was damaged after the former pressured Pence to overturn the result of the 2020 election.
