Former United States Vice President Mike Pence stated on Wednesday that charging ex-President Donald Trump would only "fuel further division in the country."
When faced with a question in a CNN town hall concerning reports that Trump was informed of being investigated for concealing classified documents at his private estate, Pence noted that he believes in "equal treatment under the law," but stressed his hope that there would be a way for the Department of Justice to "move forward" without charging the former leader.
Pence remarked that the move would also be unfavorable for the US in the international arena, as it "sends a terrible message to the world."
