United States Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin (pictured) arrived in Tel Aviv on Monday where he is expected to meet with his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Pentagon chief will also meet the Israeli War Cabinet to "reiterate America's ironclad commitment to Israel" and discuss Israeli operations aimed at "dismantling" Hamas, Austin revealed on X, formerly known as Twitter. The defense secretary will also press Israeli officials on enabling the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Charles Brown Jr. is set to join Austin during his visit to Israel this week, the Pentagon disclosed earlier.
