PepsiCo introduced Pepsi Prebiotic Cola on Monday, a new product aimed at health-conscious consumers. The company said in a press release, it's the first major update in the traditional cola category in 20 years, offering 30 calories, 5 grams of sugar, no artificial sweeteners, and 3 grams of prebiotic fiber.
The new version will be available in Original and Cherry Vanilla and it seeks to meet rising demand for functional ingredients while preserving the classic flavor. It will roll out online this fall and in retail stores by early 2026. "Pepsi Prebiotic Cola represents the next leap forward in giving consumers choice … without sacrificing the iconic Pepsi taste," CEO of PepsiCo Beverages US Ram Krishnan said.
The launch comes as major cola companies, including Coca-Cola under the Trump administration, aim to improve their product lines following criticism linking sugary sodas to obesity and diabetes.
