Pershing Square to buy 2.9% of UMG for $1.15B

Vivendi SE announced on Tuesday that Pershing Square Holdings Ltd. will acquire another 2.9% of the Universal Music Group B.V. (UMG) for $1.15 billion.

The latest acquisition will be finalized by September 9, with Pershing Square adding the 2.9% of UMG to a 7.1% stake it already owns.

UMG's public listing on the Euronext Amsterdam is currently scheduled for September 21.

BP plc announced on Friday that Apollo Funds will buy a non-controlling 25% stake in its pipelines business for around $1 billion. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025.
