Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated on Tuesday that Moscow will closely follow the development of the NATO summit, which will be held in Washington from 9 to 11 July.

"You know that the North Atlantic Alliance is an alliance that considers the Russian Federation an enemy, an adversary. This is an alliance that has repeatedly openly declared the goal of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield, and it is an alliance that is directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict on the side of Ukraine," Peskov said in a press conference.

His remarks come from leaders of Western nations who are ready to assist at the conference. In its last press conference, the White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby stated that the alliance will announce new aid to Ukraine's air defense.
