Polish Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski (pictured) said during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev that a NATO peacekeeping mission needs to be realized in Ukraine in order to end the ongoing conflict, Polish news agency TVP World reported.

"I think that we need a NATO peace mission, possibly in the broader international format, but [it shall be] a mission that will be able to defend itself and that will operate in Ukraine, which will be located in that country with the consent of the President and the government of Ukraine," Kaczynski stated.

The deputy prime minister added that such a mission would not only "bring peace and provide humanitarian aid," but also ensure that the country is protected by the "appropriate armed forces."
