Poland's oil pipeline operator PERN SA said on Sunday that it is repairing a section of the Druzhba pipeline where a leak had been detected.

Transit in one of the two lines that bring oil from Russia to the rest of Europe has been stopped but is expected to resume on August 8. The other line operates without changes.

"There is no threat to the health and life of the local residents," PERN pointed out in a press release.
