Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said on Tuesday that United States troops will remain in Poland.

"The previous tasks of US troops in Jasionka are being taken over by successive allies. US troops remain in Poland, but in different locations. Now, the mission in Jasionka involves mainly Norwegian, German, British and Polish troops, as well as other allies," Kosiniak-Kamysz posted on X. He also reminded that NATO, as part of its Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU) mission, has been responsible for the operation of Jasionka, the Polish hub for Ukraine aid, since July 2024.

His statement comes in response to a media report claiming that US Defense Department officials are considering a proposal to cut thousands of troops from Europe.
