Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak proposed on Wednesday that Germany should send the Patriot missile systems meant for Poland to Ukraine instead to bolster its defenses against Russian attacks.
Blaszczak noted in a Twitter post that this would prevent the blackouts across Ukraine caused by Russia's strikes targeting the country's power grid, while at the same time increasing Poland's security at its eastern border.
Germany offered to send the Patriot rocket launchers to Poland following a stray missile that killed two people last week in a Polish village next to the Ukraine border. However, the Polish government suggested these launchers would be better suited for Ukraine.
