Former First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon has been cleared in the investigation into the alleged abuse of finances within the Scottish National Party (SNP), the regional police said on Thursday.
The spokesperson for the department told the media that the investigation found Sturgeon and the party's former treasurer, Colin Beattie, innocent of any wrongdoing.
Meanwhile, SNP's ex-Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Peter Murrell, Sturgeon's husband, whom she recently separated from, appeared in court today to testify in the case against him. Unlike Sturgeon, Murrell has not had the matter dismissed.
