A large majority of viewers approved of United States President Donald Trump's 2025 address to Congress, a CBS News poll showed.
According to the survey conducted among a nationally representative sample of speech watchers immediately after the event, Trump's speech received strong approval, with 76% of viewers supporting the president and 23% disapproving. The audience consisted of 51% Republicans, 27% independents, and 20% Democrats.
On key topics, approval stood at 77% for tackling government waste, 77% for immigration and border policies, 73% for handling the Ukraine-Russia conflict, and 65% for tariffs. Additionally, 68% of viewers said Trump has a clear plan for inflation, and over 70% described him as presidential, entertaining, or inspiring.
