Poll: Americans worried prices will rise due to tariffs

Most Americans are concerned that President Donald Trump's tariffs will cause an increase in prices in the short term, a CBS News/YouGov poll published on Sunday showed.

According to the survey, 75% of the respondents expect the tariffs to increase prices in the short term, while 48% believe prices will rise in the long term. Oly 5% of participants don't think tariffs will cause higher prices in the short term.

When asked about the impact of the tariffs on the United States economy, 65% of those surveyed said they would make the economy worse in the short term, 27% said that they are not sure or expect no impact, wile only 8% said the economy will be better as a result of the levies. However, almost half of the participants, 49%, think the tariffs will lead to the creation of more jobs in the country.
