Polls: SPD set for first Berlin loss in 23 years

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's Social Democratic Party (SPD) is expected to lose local elections in Berlin for the first time in over 23 years, according to exit polls.

The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) is set to win approximately 28% of the vote, with SPD and the Greens behind with between 18% and 19% each.

The Left was fourth with just over 12%, while Alternative for Germany (AfD) stood at around 9%.
