Former United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will meet with the January 6 committee on Tuesday, a person familiar with the matter confirmed to CNN after previous reports claimed the deposition is under consideration. The source stated the committee "has shown an increased interest in members of former President Donald Trump's Cabinet, particularly regarding conversations among Cabinet members about invoking the 25th Amendment" following the Capitol riot on January 6, 2020.

The 25th Amendment of the US Constitution allows for the president to be replaced if he is shown to be unfit or unable to hold office. According to the report, the committee will focus on the Trump cabinet's consideration of the amendment in the meeting with Pompeo.
