Major Asian stock markets traded mostly higher on Monday in the wake of China's central bank leaving its key interest rates unchanged and despite mounting trade tensions between Beijing and Washington.
The Shanghai Composite rose 0.36% at 4:31 am CET while the Shenzhen Composite added 0.60% at the same minute. South Korea's Kospi advanced 0.20% whereas Japan's Nikkei 225 slumped 1.24%.
Markets in Australia and Hong Kong remained closed for Easter Monday.
Meanwhile, the dollar ceded 1.15% to the yen, exchanging for 140.75150 at 4:29 am CET.
