Prices of precious metals declined on Thursday with palladium dropping more than 4% as investors awaited inflation data from the United States set to be released on Friday.
Market watchers also digested the latest unemployment claims report which showed weekly initial jobless claims in the US stood at the lowest level since 1969.
Palladium slid 4.5% to $1,775.7 per ounce at 10:38 am ET and platinum fell 1.60% to go for $946.67 per ounce at 10:39 am ET. Spot gold was down 0.32% to $1,779.96 per ounce and spot silver plunged 1.90% to sell for $22.03 per ounce at the same time.
