Russian President Vladimir Putin's announcement about receiving payments for natural gas in rubles only represents a breach of contracts on gas supply, German Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck (pictured) claimed on Wednesday.
Berlin and its European allies will discuss the matter, Habeck revealed, adding that Russia has shown again that it is not a stable partner.
Earlier in the day, Putin said that countries on Russia's "unfriendly" list will soon have to pay for Russian natural gas in rubles only, pointing out that the measure will be applied to existing contracts as well.
