Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation on Friday during which they discussed the bilateral relations between their countries.
According to the statement issued by the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers, the two agreed to have a meeting in person at their earliest convenience. Pashinyan was also said to have thanked Putin for his readiness to facilitate the solution to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, also expressed during his recent meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Putin and Pashinyan previously met on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Union's (EAEU) summit in Moscow in May. That gathering came after Armenia joined the International Criminal Court (ICC), which means that Putin could be arrested in that country on the charges of the alleged war crimes committed during Russia's military operation in Ukraine.
