Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke on Wednesday about the escalating situation in the Middle East, the Kremlin reported.
"The difficult situation in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict was discussed. It was noted that the moral approaches of Russia and Saudi Arabia regarding the Middle East settlement practically coincide," the release published by the Russian government read.
During the conversation, both leaders also discussed the BRICS summit held in Kazan, Russia, and an agreement to maintain close contact on regional and international issues.
