Putin and Witkoff conclude their 4.5-hour talks

United States Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin concluded their negotiations on Friday after four hours and 30 minutes. The meeting was held behind closed doors in the building of the Presidential Library in St. Petersburg.

"The head of the Russian state held a meeting with the special envoy of the President of the United States of America [Donald Trump], Steven Witkoff. The topic of the meeting was aspects of the Ukrainian settlement," Kremlin said in a statement.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov previously stated that a phone call between the Russian president and his American counterpart is "theoretically possible," but would not confirm if it is scheduled.
