Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived for the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit on Wednesday in Armenia's capital city, Yerevan.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will join the Russian leader at the summit, where they are expected to discuss issues of global and regional security. The leaders will also concentrate on enhancing the CSTO crisis response system and taking coordinated actions to support Armenia in the face of rising tensions with Azerbaijan.
The meeting will also be attended by the leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and the alliance's Secretary-General Stanislav Zas. Armenia will preside over this year's summit while handing it over to Belarus to host the following year.
