Russian President Vladimir Putin (pictured) rejected the proposal of cutting off oil shipments to North Korea on Wednesday as a way of increasing pressure on the rogue state for its nuclear and missile programs. The request came from South Korean President Moon Jae-in, with whom Putin met in Vladivostok on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum, however the Russian president dismissed the idea, citing concern for North Korean citizens.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was quoted by TASS as saying the Russian and North Korean delegations at the Eastern Economic Forum could meet as well, as pressure continues to mount on Pyongyang following its latest nuclear test.
