Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday signed a law ratifying a 20-year strategic partnership treaty with Iran, which was inked on January 17 when Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian visited Moscow, according to Russia's official legal web portal.
The agreement provides the legal framework for expanding bilateral cooperation in different areas, including defense, the fight against terrorism, energy, finance, transport, industry, agriculture, science, technology, and culture.
The agreement also stipulates that Moscow and Tehran will closely coordinate their activities at both the regional and global levels.
