Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov delivered the invitation to Lula during a personal meeting at the Brazilian leader's residence, according to the foreign minister. The invitation was also previously conveyed to the Brazilian leader during a confidential visit to Moscow in late March.

Lula has not yet confirmed whether he will attend the forum, which is scheduled to take place in June.
