Indonesian President Joko Widodo (pictured left) stated on Thursday that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin (pictured right) agreed to open a sea route for wheat export from Ukraine.
"I really appreciate President Putin, who has said he will provide security guarantees for food and fertilizer supplies from both Ukraine and Russia, this is good news," Widodo told a press conference along with Putin after their meeting. Widodo also backed the efforts of the United Nations Secretary-General to reintegrate food and fertilizer products from both countries in conflict into the global market.
In addition, the Indonesian president took the opportunity of this meeting to transmit a message from President Zelensky to Putin. Indonesia chairs the G-20, and the summit will be held next November on the island of Bali.
