Russian President Vladimir Putin extended his congratulations to Alexander Lukashenko on his re-election as President of Belarus, emphasizing the "convincing victory" as proof of Lukashenko's political influence and "undoubted support of the population."

In a statement on Monday, Putin highlighted recent progress in strengthening ties between Moscow and Minsk, expressing optimism about deepening Russian-Belarusian cooperation. He reaffirmed Russia's commitment to enhancing the Union State's effectiveness and fostering integration within the Eurasian region.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko won the country's presidential election on Sunday with 87.6% of the ballot, according to the official exit poll. He has now secured his seventh term in office, maintaining power since 1994.
