Russian President Vladimir Putin declared Thursday that Russia plans to increase its missile production in 2025 while stressing that the country could continue to respond to Ukraine with intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBMs).

Speaking at the summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Putin also referred to the overnight attack in Ukraine, confirming that Russia launched 90 missiles and 100 drones, targeting 17 Ukrainian military and industrial sites in response to strikes on Russian regions like Bryansk and Kursk.

Putin highlighted the deployment of the newly produced Oreshnik missile system, claiming its power could rival nuclear weapons in specific scenarios.
