Russian President Vladimir Putin invited all Arab League leaders to the first Russian-Arab summit set for October 15.
In a message to the 34th Arab League summit, he said the meeting aims to strengthen "mutually beneficial multifaceted cooperation" between Russia and Arab states. Putin pointed to the growing tensions from the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and said the Arab League plays an important role in addressing regional issues.
"We intend to continue to develop constructive dialogue with the LAS [League of Arab States] in every possible way," Putin stated in the message published by the Kremlin.
