Russian President Vladimir Putin told his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the phone that Moscow-Ankara cooperation in several areas will likely expand, especially considering the level of support Ergodan gained in yesterday's presidential election.

A statement by the Kremlin on Monday also revealed that Putin again congratulated the Turkish leader on his reelection and that the Russian president praised Erdogan's efforts to develop bilateral ties.

The Turkish president reportedly told Putin he will stay committed to "further joint work on the entire current agenda," according to the Kremlin.
