Putin: Strategic deal with Venezuela ready

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that the strategic partnership agreement between Russia and Venezuela is ready and could be signed during the visit of the latter country's President Nicolas Maduro to Moscow in May.

Putin spoke with Maduro via video link today and invited him to attend the Victory Parade in Moscow on May 9. "I am pleased to note that the agreement on strategic partnership and cooperation has been fully agreed upon, which will create a good, solid foundation for the further expansion of multifaceted ties in the long term," Putin stated, according to Tass.
