Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Russia's output of weapons, communications systems, reconnaissance and electronic warfare systems more than doubled in 2024. He said the military received over 4,000 units of armored weapons, 180 combat aircraft and helicopters, and 1.5 million drones.

Putin acknowledged a shortage of first-person view (FPV) drones, adding that efforts are underway to increase their production. Speaking at a meeting of the Military-Industrial Commission, he said Russia must accelerate the production of robotic systems, drones and unmanned boats. He added that "the possibilities of using artificial intelligence are simply colossal" and instructed its development for use in complex automated military control systems.
