The Qatari Foreign Ministry said on Monday that the country reopened its embassy in Abu Dhabi and that the United Arab Emirates' embassy in Doha resumed working on Monday as the two countries restored diplomatic relations.
Diplomatic ties between Qatar and UAE were cut in 2017 after many Middle Eastern countries severed relations with Doha, accusing it of supporting terrorism and criticizing its relations with Iran.
In 2021, the UAE, along with Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Bahrain, agreed to stop the boycott of Qatar.
