Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani (pictured right) on Thursday blamed Israel for the suspension of the latest ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
"As you know, we reached an agreement months ago, but unfortunately, Israel did not abide by this agreement," the sheikh said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Qatar has been one of the main mediators in Hamas and Israel's truce and prisoner exchange negotiations.
In addition to the latest developments in Gaza, the emir and Putin also talked about the situation in Syria. Tamim conveyed to Putin a message from Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, who expressed willingness for the country to have bilateral relations with Russia despite it shielding Bashar al-Assad.
