Shares of quantum-computing firms plummeted Wednesday following Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's remarks that practical quantum computing is likely 20 years away.

Huang's comments, made during CES 2025, suggested that even "very simple quantum computers" would take over a decade to materialize, dampening investor enthusiasm.

At 10:03 am ET, Rigetti Computing dropped 41%, Quantum Computing Inc fell 42%, IonQ Inc declined 36%, and D-Wave Quantum tumbled 41%.
