Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc (RBS) announced on Friday that Alison Rose has been appointed as the lender's new CEO. Rose, who currently holds the positions of deputy CEO at NatWest Holdings and CEO of commercial and private banking at RBS, assumes the role on November 1 after Ross McEwan formally steps down.
"I am delighted that we have appointed Alison as our new CEO. She brings extensive experience and a track record of success from her previous roles at the bank," RBS Chairman Howard Davies stated. "Following a rigorous internal and external process, I am confident that we have appointed the best person for the job," he added.
McEwan, who has worked at RBS since 2012 and held the position of CEO since 2013, announced his resignation in April.
