Von der Leyen to miss EU Parlt plenary over COVID contact

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Monday she will miss the European Parliament's plenary session after being in contact with a person infected with COVID-19.

"My driver has tested positive for COVID19. Regretfully, I must therefore cancel my participation to the @Europarl_EN plenary. I am returning to Brussels," Von der Leyen tweeted.

The plenary session is scheduled to take place from January 18 to January 21.
