United States Commerce Secretary met with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng in Beijing on Tuesday and discussed "commercial issues impacting the US-China economic relationship," the US Commerce Department said in a readout of the meeting.
"The Secretary underscored the US commitment to taking actions necessary to US national security. She raised key issues of concern for US businesses and workers, including the level playing field for US companies and workers, PRC [People's Republic of China] subsidization of industry, and underdeveloped intellectual property protections," the department stated and noted the officials also talked about the need to strengthen the protection of trade secrets of US companies operating in China.
Raimondo and He also covered other topics, such as climate change, artificial intelligence and space commerce.
