The helicopter of Iran's late President Ebrahim Raisi crashed over excessive weight and dodgy weather conditions, Fars news agency reported on Wednesday citing a security source.
According to the source, on board, there were two individuals more than was allowed by security protocols. Due to heavy fog, the pilot tried to adjust the helicopter to a suitable height but failed as the rotorcraft wasn't able to gain enough traction due to excessive weight. In the end, the helicopter crashed into a mountain.
The source further added that the investigation was completed, stating there is "definitive certainty" that this was the cause of the accident.
