Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi (pictured) accepted an invitation from Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to visit the kingdom following the recent reconciliation deal between the two countries, Agence France Presse reported, citing an official.
The invitation was extended in a letter from King Salman to President Raisi, welcoming the deal and inviting him to Riyadh.
The two regional rivals have announced a deal brokered by China to restore ties after nearly seven years of severed relations. As part of the deal, both countries are expected to reopen their embassies and implement security and economic cooperation deals signed over two decades ago.
