Japan's Rakuten Group, Inc. plans to launch its artificial intelligence language model within the next two months, the company's CEO Hiroshi Mikitani told CNBC in an interview on Monday.
Mikitani said Rakuten has a unique data set, as the company runs a range of businesses, from banking to e-commerce and telecommunications.
He noted that the company plans to use the artificial intelligence model internally to improve operational efficiency and marketing by around 20%, adding that he also wants to offer this model to third-party companies to use it.
