Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Manchester United Football Club are poised to reveal an agreement in which the billionaire would acquire 25% of the club's shares in a £1.3 billion arrangement "early next week," Sky News reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.
As per the sources, there is a possibility that the timetable might change, but both United and Ratcliffe's INEOS Group Limited anticipate making the announcement next week. The media outlet added that neither Ratcliffe nor Sir Dave Brailsford, the former cycling authority in charge of INEOS's sporting operations, are expected to join the club's public company board.
Previously, the same news outlet disclosed that discussions were underway regarding a $33-per-share deal.
