Three people were killed and 10 were wounded as rebels in Syria shelled a neighborhood in northern Aleppo a day after the country’s government announced it regained full control of the city, local media reported on Friday.
Yesterday, the Syrian army said it took complete control of Aleppo, which had been under rebel control since 2012, after the last rebels were evacuated from the city. According to Syrian TV, the army is in the process of removing explosives and booby traps which the rebels left in the city before their departure.
Rebels, considered “terrorists” by the Syrian government, are still in control of a large part of the Middle Eastern country, including rural areas to the southwest of Aleppo from where they are launching attacks on the city.
