British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves said on Wednesday that government planning reforms are expected to permanently boost GDP by 0.2% by 2029–30 and by 0.4% over the next decade.
The figures, assessed by the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR), were presented in her Spring Statement as a key long-term growth driver, with projected gains of £3.4 billion for public services by the end of the decade.
She also announced an additional £2.2 billion for the Ministry of Defence in the next financial year and confirmed that at least 10% of the department's equipment budget will be allocated to novel technologies, including AI-enabled systems and drones.
