United States President-elect Donald Trump chose Richard Grenell (pictured) as his envoy for special missions. During Trump's first term in office, Grenell served as ambassador to Germany from 2018 to 2020, after which he took up the post of acting Director of National Intelligence. He was also the special envoy for negotiations between Serbia and Kosovo from 2019 to 2021.
"Ric will work in some of the hottest spots around the World, including Venezuela and North Korea," Trump said. "Ric will continue to fight for Peace through Strength, and always put AMERICA FIRST."
