British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak plans to call for elections in the fall of 2024, The Telegraph reported Monday.
Sources say the cabinet is betting on a possible improvement in the economy that could boost the prime minister and narrow the gap with the Labour. In addition, the small-boats bill is also expected to provide a further push for Sunak.
The conservatives are currently 18 percentage points behind the Labour party in the polls, down from 24 points when Sunak assumed office in October.
