Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that Russia is taking "systematic and targeted" measures to lessen the impact of the oil embargo imposed by the European Union. He said the exports are being redirected to "alternative directions."

Peskov insisted Russia "does not interfere in any way" with the export of Ukrainian grain, accusing instead Ukrainian forces of mining the waters near its Black Sea coast. He assured Russia is "ready to assist in escorting ships loaded with grain to international waters." He also said there is currently "no clear understanding" on a meeting between the representatives of the United Nations, Ukraine and Russia, proposed by Turkey.
